Strategic Partnership Renewed: HRC and Fraunhofer ICT Extend Deep Collaboration

On February 1, 2026, HRC and the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology (Fraunhofer ICT), a leading German research institution, held a formal ceremony in Changshu to extend their deep strategic cooperation agreement. This renewal not only continues their longstanding collaboration but also marks a new chapter in their decade-long partnership. Looking ahead, both parties will deepen their cooperation in technology development and innovative applications, jointly exploring broader opportunities for mutual success.

Since establishing their long-term strategic partnership in 2016, the two sides have focused on the joint development of high-performance composites and advanced processes. Together, they have achieved a series of breakthroughs in key areas such as thermoplastic composite product development and sustainable, environmentally friendly solutions. Built on a foundation of mutual trust and a shared commitment to innovation, HRC and Fraunhofer ICT have developed an effective and enduring collaboration model. Leveraging their jointly established R&D center, they have promoted strong industrial integration and talent exchange, accelerating technological progress and industrial application of composites across multiple target sectors.

The renewed agreement was signed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Henning, Director of Fraunhofer ICT, and Mr. Yongtao Gu, Founder and President of HRC, in the presence of Mr. Jordi Aranega, Vice President of HRC, and Dr.-Ing.Timo Huber, CEO of the HRC R&D Center.Going forward, both parties will continue to embrace open collaboration, strengthening joint research and innovation, and fostering deeper exchange between leading Chinese and German experts and technologies. This enduring partnership is set to inject new momentum into the global advancement of composite materials.
